20131129_191134

To start with I would like to say I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Its not just a time for giving but a time for reflection about ourselves and others. But one important thing I have done to make things better in my life on and off the job,is to appreciate all the things that I’ve been blessed with. Every year at the refinery, we try as a group to give to others that are less fortunate. In the past we have had some great results, helping single mothers and their kids, as well as fellow Union brothers and Sisters that were off work due to illness. This year was good as well even in these tough times. We got together and plant wide 4 bags of toys were collected and donated to some needy children who might not have got anything if not for the generosity of the membership. We have been and will always be willing to help in this endeavor to make the Christmas Season bright for those who need it most. I would also like to thank all of the brothers and sisters who helped. Going forward into 2014, lets be thankful that we have a Union contract in our workplace Without it, we wouldn’t have the pay and benefits that we and those before us have fought long and hard to keep.

In Solidarity,

Shad Wright
Unit Chair, Refinery
