Sisters and Brothers,

Here it is again the silly season. I call it the silly season because it always made me wonder why we do all of these exciting things to give at only one time of the year. This year our union has decided to help with the battered women shelter. I’m really excited that they picked this particular place to help. This subject hits really close to my heart. I’ve been in these types of situations before and I know how these women feel. Most of them are spending this Christmas in one room with two or three kids because they have finally made the correct life choice to get out. This is not an easy decision that sometimes can come at the price of their life. I hope that all of you who are so fortunate to have a job that pays  a livable wage will open your eyes and see that these women need help, not just at Christmas but all year long. Domestic violence doesn’t have a season. Lets pull together and help these people get their lives back. When you have nothing, every little thing means something.  So imagine what we could do for them to make a real difference. Look at your own kids and imagine them spending their Christmas in that fashion. When people pull together the outcome can be spectacular. Let’s be spectacular!!!
